At Middle Township High School, we took meaningful steps to support student wellness and engagement by creating a sustainable after-school snack stand. This initiative ensured that students had access to healthy, affordable snack options every day of the week. Offerings included high-protein shakes, fresh fruits, and homemade protein balls and bars—all designed to provide nutritious fuel for students as they transitioned from the school day into extracurricular activities.
In addition to promoting healthy eating habits, we hosted two highly successful and impactful events: the Boys2Men Event and the Girls Takeover. These events were designed to empower students through a variety of enriching experiences. Students received free haircuts, attended financial literacy sessions, and had the opportunity to engage directly with local police officers, prosecutors, and nutritionists. They participated in self-defense workshops, used the school’s weight room, and enjoyed recreational activities like flag football. The events also featured food trucks, which added a festive and inclusive atmosphere.
These programs not only met immediate needs but also fostered a strong sense of community and belonging. Students felt celebrated, supported, and motivated to remain on campus after school. Overall, these initiatives significantly contributed to both the physical and emotional well-being of our students, reinforcing the importance of holistic, student-centered programming.
